After the politicians and the police departed from Kennedy Street the settlement was left in the palms of the native ANC – armed younger men patrolled and made it clear, through death threats, that AbM was now banned from Kennedy Road. Additionally they made it clear that unbiased media had been also banned. Looting and numerous kinds of intimidation continued. The eviction of some of our leaders and the arrest of others was followed by the destruction of our workplace leaving us with out access to e mail and phone. When our members arrived from other settlements to attempt to save our information and banners in the office they had been threatened with demise.
